I want to apologize for not contacting you earlier. Since Dad went home to be with the Lord it has been very hectic with the holidays, putting together the legal matters, and making sure we have everything done according to his wishes.
This is the official report from the home office of the School of Christ International in Beaumont, Texas; other information will soon follow. Dad made certain that everything and everyone was in place so that the work would continue without any interruptions. He left Pastor Robert Turnage as the official president and head of the School of Christ. Many years ago in a personal meeting with Brother Clendennen, Pastor Turnage pledged to him that after he was gone he would make sure that the school would remain intact as he left it. No new lessons, no other teachings; the daily operations and organizational structure would continue as Brother Clendennen personally set it up. There will be no changes. We will have our annual convention the week before Easter as always. The home office and personnel will be the same as it has always been, with the exception of Dad. We will continue to handle the matters of business in the same timely manner.
The School of Christ was not centered on a man, but the ministry of Christ. The vision is identically the same as when this ministry was birthed in Brother Clendennen. When God opens the door to a new country or expands an existing one, we will go forward—nothing will change.
Your faithfulness, dedication and support to the School of Christ is more important now than ever. In desperate times, such as we live in, men and women are driven to search for that which is real; we have what they are searching for.
In closing, I want to thank you for praying, fasting, and your words of encouragement, during the time of Dad’s illness. He knew that God had called him to share the Gospel of Pentecost to the entire world and he gave his life to that calling. Your support, financially, physically, and spiritually, enabled him to be obedient to the work God called him to do. The final call and command of Jesus is, “go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15). My prayer is that you will continue to be committed to the work that you believe God has called you to do with the School of Christ.
Workers together with Christ,
Brenda Turnage (Clendennen)
