Love of God, The

This message is an overview of I Corinthians 13, the “Love Chapter”. What does it really mean to love God, to love our neighbor? When we look close at these scriptures, we find that we don’t love nearly as much as we think we do, not nearly as much as Christ told us to, because love is obedience, love is the denial of self. “But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected”.

Perfect love casts out fear. Divine love is perfect peace and joy. There is no restlessness in God’s love because it is supported by a perfect trust in God. God’s love gives, “for God so loved the world, that He gave…”

This work of God’s love is by and through the Spirit of God, problem is that those who are baptized in the Spirit have never learned the full potential of His power in their lives, this only comes when we learn to “trust and obey, for there is no other way”.
