What a privilege to be able to conduct the graduation services for three School of Christ Schools in Japan.
The work of the School of Christ is run under the supervision of Pr. Yukio Yasaka, our Field-Director for Japan. He is the pastor of the Brazilian Assemblies of God church located in Chiba. God has given him the desire to take on the vision of the School of Christ. One outstanding characteristic about Pr. Yukio is that he carries a great burden for the Japanese people. We have been working closely with him to minister to the Japanese churches and their ministers through the School of Christ. You can feel his dedication and gratitude as we read his letter to Pastor Turnage and myself.
The first School of Christ graduation was held in Matsunaga, Japan. It is located in the region of Hiroshima, and is about 40 minutes from the State Capital. The 25 students in attendance were very studious and hungry for a deeper understanding of the Word of God.
The next School graduation was held in the city of Yachiyo, located in the Northern Chiba region of Japan. It has a population of 192 thousand people and is about 25 miles from downtown Toyako. With more than 30 students in attendance they left refreshed and ready to win the lost of their country for Christ.
The third School was held in Oizumi, located in the Northern Kanto region of Japan. Approximately 10% of the population are Japanese-Brazillians. Pr. Evanilton, an Assemblies of God pastor, opened the doors of his church allowing us to teach the School of Christ there. What an amazing time in the Lord! Students were blessed and renewed in Christ. We are sheduled to run another School in Oizumi starting in April.
