Believing God

Description

Preached in 1981 from Mark 9:23, “Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.”

Believing is an action based on God’s Word; it lies dormant until you step out in it. First the natural, then the spiritual. It’s only after you step out in faith that God moves to bring the miracle. The foundation of faith is the Word of God, as faith only comes by the Word of God. (Romans 10:17)

There is always a prerequisite or a proverbial “IF” before the answer comes. In John 5:8, Jesus said, “Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.” The instant the man stepped out in belief, the miracle came. We see few miracles today because so few truly believe, and the bottom line of that is because so few actually read and study God’s Word.
