DESCRIPTION – The cross is the only cure that God offers fallen men, there is no other way. “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit” Romans 8:1. There is no condemnation for those who take up the cross and follow Christ; this is death to the flesh and subsequent life to the spirit.

“Thou shalt not plant thee a grove of any trees near unto the altar of the LORD thy God, which thou shalt make thee.” Deuteronomy 16:21. We must never cover up the severity of the cross, what it cost to set men free. No excuse, no sentiment, only a bloody death to the flesh.

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit” John 12:24. Without death there can be no life in the spirit. We must not, we cannot by pass the altar. Nothing comes before God’s throne without first coming through the blood of Christ.
