June Mission Message

A friend of mine wrote a song entitled,

 “WHY SHOULD I FEAR”

The lyrics of the song are: “Why should I fear when the Lord is on my side, Why should I fear in His love I’ll safely hide; He is to me my Fortress and my Rock, Tell me why should I fear.” A wonderful song founded entirely on the promises of God.

In Psalms 121:1-8 King David wrote, “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.”

David experienced the greatest joys and experiences of life—He also knew the lowest of lows. Many of his problems came from his enemies but, he brought many of these problems upon himself. He saw his enemies destroyed, and, even though he paid an enormous price for his failures, he learned to always turn to God every time and in every situation. God was everything to him and he, in the end, had peace with God and could rejoice in His Deliverer.

We should live so before God that when we are under attack by our enemies or by our own actions, that we can go humbly before Him in every time of need and crisis in our lives, including times of uncertainty and fear. He is our Shelter and Rock Who deserves all glory and praise in each victory He provides.
