A 20-Year Legacy: A Report on the School of Christ in Brazil

Twenty years ago, during a visit to Paraguay, I met Pastor Brian Larsen. I was visiting missionaries from our church when I was asked to help interpret for an American pastor who was there. The spiritual connection was immediate, and following those meetings, I invited him to bring the School of Christ to our church in Brazil. Since then, we began working together and have remained steadfast in this partnership for all these decades.

Over the years, we have held several editions of the School of Christ and graduated hundreds of students. The testimony is consistent: every year, we see lives impacted, baptisms with the Holy Spirit, callings to ministry awakened, and divine healings.

This year, we had the honor of once again welcoming Pastor Brian Larsen, this time accompanied by his son, Brian James, who interpreted for him into Portuguese. The routine was intense, a true immersion in the Word of God starting at 8:00 AM and continuing until late afternoon, with two hours dedicated to prayer and one day of fasting per week. In addition to the enrolled students, our local church embraced these two weeks of consecration; we opened the doors every night so that those who could not attend during the day could also pray and receive the Word.

Something I have noticed in recent years is a growing interest among the youth. I believe there is a genuine hunger and thirst for the Word of God growing in the hearts of young people. There is a quest for reality, to truly experience the presence of God, and during this School, I was able to witness young people being filled with the Holy Spirit in a powerful way.

To summarize the events of this year’s session, we experienced true "days of heaven on earth." The dynamic of seeing father and son ministering together at the altar brought a very special anointing of legacy and ministerial continuity. The mobilization was total: while during the day the students dove deep into the
discipline of the School, at night the atmosphere of worship enveloped everyone through services held every day in different locations across our city, ensuring that those who could not participate during the day had this opportunity at night. It was evident that the price paid in prayer and the exclusive dedication to the Word generated an environment conducive to deep spiritual renewal in our church.

I conclude this report with a grateful heart, recognizing that this two-decade partnership transcends the mere hosting of an event; it is about the preservation of a divine purpose. The School of Christ continues to be a living instrument to bring revival to the Church and awaken vocations in Brazil. Seeing a new generation being touched and the church being edified year after year, I am fully convinced that "chance" meeting in Paraguay was, in fact, the providence of God that continues to bear fruit and transform our history to this day.
