Chile School of Christ
Pastor Clendennen left us the vision and legacy of “Restoring the message of Pentecost.” We are working tirelessly and moving forward, and God is opening doors for us to bring this message and inject life into the Church.
Our work, inspired by Pastor Clendennen’s vision, has significantly progressed. Last year, we received a request from Pastor Handel Siñani to establish a group of pastors in Iquique, Chile. We responded, moved forward with much prayer, and began organizing the School of Christ in Chile. School started just after the first of the year, and I had the privilege of being present for the final week of training. The enthusiasm of Pastor Renato Gayardo Loreto, of the Assemblies of God, upon my arrival at the airport, was a testament to the impact of our work.
The School of Christ in Chile, guided by the principles set by Founder B. H. Clendennen, has seen a remarkable commitment from its participants. However, the requirement of an hour of prayer every morning, full attendance at every class, and ending the day with another hour of prayer was not met by all. Some pastors, unwilling to adhere to these standards, chose to leave. However, those who remained experienced a profound transformation in their lives.
I remember a wonderful experience that I had in 2009. I received a request from Dr. Dodson, SOC Director, and Pastor Clendennen to set up and run a SOC in La Paz, Bolivia, with fifty pastors. Two days before I was to leave for La Paz, the pastor in charge of registering students called and said not to come because only two students were coming. When I related this information to Dr. Dodson, his reply was, “What if Christ had known that only one person would be saved by His sacrifice? Do you think He would have died on the cross?” My answer was yes; He would have died. So, with two pastors willing to be trained, I left for Bolivia. However, we did not have two graduates. We finished with thirty-eight pastors as word spread about the moving of the Holy Spirit, and the Spirit drew them to come to the School. I do not doubt that this will happen again in Chile.
At the graduation service, the Glory of God was manifested among us, and the message we preached was forceful. More than twenty people went to the altar to give their lives to the Lord; others were moved and broken by the Holy Spirit. Former students from Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, and Chile also attended the graduation. They testified to God’s greatness and how prayer and the Word of God changed their lives through the SOC.
Pastor René Sucasaca from Peru testified, saying, “I was dying spiritually. I told the Lord you must do something for me. I heard someone knocking on my door, and it was Pastor Handel who had brought an invitation so that I could participate in the School of Christ. Without thinking, I told him, ‘I’ll be there.’ I went to School and never imagined that this would completely transform my life. I understand now that I must be baptized with the Holy Spirit, and that is what happened to me in the School of Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ baptized me with the Holy Spirit. Glory to God for His goodness to us in allowing us to see His glory through this tool, the School of Christ International.”
We challenged all pastors and leaders at the graduation to attend the next School scheduled for later this year. More than twenty pastors and workers have now registered for this second School. I met with influential pastors in Iquique; I talked to them about the need for them to take the time to receive this training from the School of Christ. We had two important meetings where everyone in attendance felt the Glory of God. I ask for your prayers so that this group that has committed can have this opportunity to receive “The Message of Pentecost.”
Thank you for being part of this victory through your prayers and financial support. This makes it possible for many to be confronted, challenged, and inspired by the “Message of Pentecost.”
