SOC School in Myanmar
In 2014 we held a School of Christ School in Shan State, Myanmar. Pastor Ko Aung attended that School as a young teenager. It had such a significant influence on his life. After high school, he went into ministry and is now a pastor and church planter.
A year ago, Pastor Ko Aung felt led by God to organize a missionary school for youth that feel the call to be pastors, missionaries, or evangelists. He contacted pastors in the surrounding area and twenty-eight students enrolled—the churches he reached out to have only existed for ten years or less. The pastors have never been to Bible School, so they were so excited to be able to send their young men and women who feel the call of God on their lives to be trained.
When Pastor Ko Aung found out that I was coming to Myanmar, he contacted me and requested that I conduct the School of Christ at the missionary school while I was there. The School of Christ changed him, and he wanted these young ministers to also have the right foundation for their Spiritual life through the School of Christ lessons.
The missionary school had been training these young students for a year. Patterned after the SOC training Pastor Ko Aung received at the School he attended, the students prayed an hour before and after lessons each day. Pastor was thrilled to see the joy on the students’ faces as they listened to the teaching of the School of Christ. As I began the video lessons, you could see the Holy Spirit was working in the hearts of each student. Pastor believes that the SOC teachings will have a strong impact on their Spiritual lives as it did in his own life. When I left, I gave him the SOC videos to continue using in the missionary school.
Praise the Lord that the School of Christ continues to train men and women to lead their generation to Christ.
