SOCI SAN ANGELO SUMMIT: BUILDING AN ARMY OF BELIEVERS

For the past three years, we have had the wonderful privilege of being hosted by Pastor Lonnie Green and the church family of Bible Way Ministries in San Angelo, Texas. Our connection with Pastor Green began through a former graduate and faithful supporter of SOCI, Sister Shaunna Russell, who also serves as his associate pastor.

Throughout these years, we have experienced genuine Christian fellowship and the love of the body of Christ. In March of 2026, we returned to San Angelo to once again, not only to  hold the third SOCI Summit, but to unite together as the body of Christ in consecration to be encouraged and strengthened to fulfill the call upon our lives individually and as the local body.

Following the Summit, we received the following testimony from Sister Shaunna: “I wish to express my profound gratitude to SOCI, Brother Brian, and Brother B.J. Larsen for making the journey to our dusty West Texas town. In regions of the United States that often feel forgotten by time, there remain faithful men of God willing to travel great distances to preach the Gospel to every creature.

We recently hosted our third SOCI Summit in as many years, and it was a wonderful experience. In today's spiritually lethargic culture, there are still those who are hungry for the Word of God and a move of His Spirit. I work extensively with young adults and have observed a generation arising that craves reality. These young people are not content with the status quo, and they will go to great lengths to find true connection and hope. While the world is eager to twist and destroy them, I am witnessing them take a firm stand. To a large extent, they are rejecting the notion of "church as usual" and are deeply hungry for a genuine move of God.

In many ways, although they have never witnessed the kind of revival described in the Bible, they choose to stand in faith, believing that the Lord can and will move again. They pursue purity, righteousness, and holy living, even in a world that is aggressively—and sometimes violently—opposed to the life of Christ within them.

I have witnessed these young adults at our Summits courageously saying "yes" to the Lord. He is baptizing them in the Spirit and raising them up as an army. They are witnessing to their peers at school and in their workplaces, livingout the reality of Christ daily and finding Him to be faithful. We are seeing praise reports within families, and God is building their faith every single day as they dig deeper into their relationship with Him.

In our church, these individuals are increasingly stepping into leadership roles. The Word of God is going out, and it is in the hands of these young people. If the Lord once turned the world upside down with twelve young men, He can certainly do it again; He does not need a multitude, only a few faithful souls.

The truth of the Word, as preached by the SOCI staff, has created a profound hunger for more of God. I cannot thank you enough for your faithfulness; it means the world to our staff and to these young people.”
